Esperanza 2010 treks are complete. We worked on several homes, poured floors and roofs, prayed, played, and lived in our wonderful community at Posada and Padre Jaime's retreat center in La Gloria.

Here are some youth reflection quotes:

"We were the hands of Jesus and doing His work loving our neighbors."

"Prayer groups always connected our work to our faith."

"This work meant me helping others but also them helping me see their culture and what it means to have faith and hope."

"I grew stronger with my faith...broke the stereotype of the Tijuana area."

"Service work God calls us to do, sharing, loving."

"Working in solidarity with each other and these families was.. an incredible experience."

"We came down because God brought us to do His work."

"On a scale of 1 to 10, this was a 20 for me."

"I was very impressed by prayer and affirmations this year by everybody." 16 year adult chaperone Greg Leptich

St. Vincent de Paul
- President Amy Buckley. Giving Tree 2009 provided help for 50 families. This included food for a week and, in most cases, gifts for the family. The great need continues, please consider gifting an extra $1 (or more) a week for St. Vincent's coffers so they can help others. Imagine what those collective dollars can do!
