Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
RCIA is the process that involves initiating adults who are unbaptized or from another faith tradition into full membership in the Catholic Church. Adults generally begin the process by attending Inquiry sessions to get answers to their questions and discern if they are called to journey as Catholic Christians.
Please go to “Sacraments” Webpage for further information.
Adult Confirmation
Adults who have not received the Sacrament of Confirmation are encouraged to do so. Young adults are now required to be Confirmed before they can receive the Sacrament of Marriage.
Please go to “Sacraments” Webpage for further information.
Returning/Reconnecting Catholics
We invite, inactive or distanced Catholics to join a supportive process that explores reconciliation with the Church. The “Welcome Back” program session’s address, in a non-judgmental environment, reasons individuals have left the Church and provide updates on major changes in the Church. Sessions are six weeks on Sundays at Noon -1:30PM and are usually offered after Christmas and Easter.
Marriage Preparation
Couples planning marriage are requested to contact the parish office at least 7-6 months before the planned ceremony. At this time they will be informed on parish policies and procedures for marriage.
Please go to “Sacraments” Webpage for further information.
Convalidation of Marriages
Couples who for various reasons did not get married in the Church by a priest or deacon are encouraged to have their marriage convalidated. This ceremony (often called “having a marriage blessed”) occurs after their civil marriage.
Please go to “Sacraments” Webpage for further information.
Annulments
The Sacrament of Marriage is both a legal and sacramental bond. Divorce deals only with the civil bond. The annulment process determines whether or not a sacramental bond existed in the marriage. If not, an annulment may be declared, freeing the former spouses to re-marry in the Church. We offer trained Advocates who will support and guide divorced individuals through the annulment process.
